Our client is an award-winning independent studio based in the UK. Formed due to their smash hit success story, they’re planning big things for the future and looking for people to be part of the journey. They are a fully “remote first” studio with a HQ based in London.

They are looking for a skilled and talented Senior Technical Artist to work on their existing franchise. You will work in a fast moving, collaborative, cooperative, cross-disciplinary team environment to implement amazing art styles and effects to delight and dazzle their players.

Their tech stack is a combination of Unity game engine and their own codebase, it's not a requirement that you can program, but you're not just a node dragging artist either.

The role is open to anyone within GMT+2 timezone, and will require right to work within the country they are based in, as sponsorships are not provided by our client at this time.

The salary offered is between circa £35k-£60k GBP per annum, depending on experience, + generous bonus, benefits and remote working.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement graphical features that are performant and well organised, and designed
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop various gameplay effects and asset pipelines
  • Follow games industry best practise and processes
  • Work with QA, helping fix and regress issues with the existing game's visuals.
  • You're constantly learning new methods and technologies whilst investigating new techniques and tools.
Skills
  • A portfolio of work that you can demonstrate your broad abilities – this is crucial
  • Understanding games and being a fan of video games is a basic entry level requirement
  • Knowing how computers tick and having an endless passion for trying new techniques and finding better ways of doing things
  • A good level of experience and at least a few previously released games with roles focusing on graphics creation for game development
  • A good understanding of 3D, timing, and animation and ability to produce finished quality results.
  • Can communicate with both programmers and other team members from other disciplines
  • A self starting, problem solving, initiative and can-do attitude
Experience
  • You are an expert in render pipelines and modern day computer artistic techniques and tricks.
  • You love creating amazing particle effects, shaders, full screen effects as well as more traditional art asset creation.
  • Understanding of 3D graphic API's and how to make things not only look great, but feel great
  • High end experience creating VFX and other technical art tasks in previously released games
